Yeah but sometimes hypothetical situations can become real. Yeah everyone is saying hydrate, which is common sense really, but I always forget. That does sound gross, but worth a shot. I struggle to sleep if I have a cough, if not then I sleep pretty heavy when I'm sick.

This is just treating the hypothetical symptoms, not the problem, and you’ve probably heard it a dozen times at least, but hydration really is key. Even if it doesn’t fix everything it’ll at least make it so you don’t add dehydration to your list of problems. Also the taste is awful, but licorice root tea is my go-to if I have something coming on. It can help with sleep too if that’s an issue.

I just want quiet places with no people. I'm in the school if music, does that count? Can I get keys to a practice room? I've never really asked before. But thank you for all of your suggestions, I will think about it.

There are a couple of rooms off of the counseling center specifically meant for that sort of thing. You can reserve them or drop in if it’s a spur of the moment need. Fair warning, the closer it gets to exam season, the quicker they get taken. If you’re okay with places with less structure that fit the bill though, there are some options. The back of the third floor of the library is pretty empty since it’s mostly archive materials up there that nobody really touches. There’s a computer lab near the engineering building that doesn’t get a ton of traffic, if you want somewhere that’ll let you get some work done too. And this is cheating a little, but if you or anyone you know is in the school of music, you can usually get a key to one of the practice rooms. They’re pretty soundproof which is their biggest appeal, you just have to fight your way past a few tubas to get there.

I'm not on campus, but thanks for the heads up. Unless off campus people can join? I am alumni, but I'm not sure what the rules are.

I couldn’t tell you about teams, but if you’re on campus, there’s usually a bunch of different games going on around the student commons. Soccer, volleyball, frisbee if that’s your thing? It probably couldn’t hurt to check those out and then ask the players if they know anything more legitimate.
